Description

Email from Martin Tõnumaa (among others):

Hello Matt,
thanks for a quick reply and the file!! I put your copy of LIBEAY32.dll in
the /php folder.
After this, Silverstripe was asking for a few more files, which i had to
google
file / author / version / filesize
SSLEAY32.dll / The OpenSSL Project / 0.9.8d / 196 608
VSINIT.dll / Zonelabs Inc. / 4.5.538.000 / 75 032
it looks to be working now. i will write again should i run into some more
trouble.
Thanks again!
ps, Are these missing files not included in the silverstripe's windows
installer? i tried silverstripe on 2 machines and got same error messages.
im asking because i think locating the above files might prove to be an
obstacle for many less computer oriented users.

We should look into this, see if we can disable SSL, or include these files in the installer. If we do decide to keep SSL (or if we can't disable it), we should include those files.

  • priority changed from blocker to critical
  • harvest_task set to (Unknown)
  • invoice_sent set to 0
  • milestone set to 2.2.1

We should look at these issues with the Windows installer in 2.2.1.

Alternatively, we should ask whether we want to discontinue with Windows installer and focus on the PHP installer, recommending WAMP, etc to users.
