in order to get people using this new feature, it would be great to have it documented on doc.silverstripe.com. will, can you help out here?

please add a page describing the functionality, and link this page from other wiki pages:

also link to the google documentation on sitemaps: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/protocol.html
