complex table field set default sort

I often use a complex table field to allow my users to edit a dataobject in the CMS. It would be really nice if they could order the records and that this would become the "default" order in which the records are shown on a page. The sorting function would also be really useful in viewing the records in a useful order (e.g. by order date, by last name or whatever).
